I'd go back an order Photo Album 6 again, except it won't run with Vista. For instance, batch commands like renaming all photos within a folder were dropped. But now I can no longer organize photos chronologically, or by country. Go ahead and try to drag and drop an image to a new location.
I am a long time user of Photo Album, since back when it was developed by Jasc, before Corel bought it out. I'll get software from another company. For me, this program is a total waste. Like another reviewer I am also amazed how many people have given this product good ratings.
I mainly used Corel Photo Album to organize photos so I could create travel DVDs of my trips. Recommend that you do the same. Maybe they have not used the previous version Photo Album 6, which was very user friendly and had many neat features that were eliminated in version 7. And I was absolutely shocked to see that I could no longer reorganize the order of photos within a folder.
It turns out that that was only partially true: you can view photos shot in RAW but you cannot tag RAW images so for me it's worthless for photo organizing - if it could tag RAW images I would give it 4-5 stars I was looking for a program mainly to organize over 10,000 photos and from what I saw I did like photo album. I was also told by Corel support before I bought it that it was compatible with RAW which is important to me since that's the format I shoot in.
I love the fact you can add a tan to people but they look a tad orange. This product is just okay. Some of the features are fun.
You can make them look even better with this wonderful software. A great way to work with all the digital photos you take.
But if you have a choice between buying this and buying some utility, or saving a bit longer for a more powerful program, take the other road. While there are a few handy features here, I found that most of them are already on other programs I have, for free on my computer. The one thing it does do it put them altogether in one place.
